2025 IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa happening weekend August 1-3

NCC post

OTTAWA, July 31, 2025 — This weekend, the National Capital Region will welcome thousands of athletes and fans as they gather for IRONMAN Canada-Ottawa. To create a safe and fun event for all participants, several closures will be in effect on Friday, August 1 and Sunday, August 3. This will impact the NCC Weekend Bikedays and Gatineau Park shuttle programs, along with several other major driveways and streets.

However, many NCC destinations remain open! Be sure to check our closures advisory before heading out.

What else is happening this weekend?

The NCC Summer Zone is the perfect spot to sit down, grab a drink and a bite, and cheer on the athletes as they run on the Queen Elizabeth Driveway. While you’re at it, why not partake in a triathlon of your own, starting at the Dow’s lake recreational dock. Ironman who?!

Visit Maison Charron Terrasse and Bar

Located in Jacques-Cartier park Park, this restaurant offers a great way to experience the lovely ambience of the area. From the patio, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the race as cyclists cross the Alexandra bridge.
