The City of Ottawa announced today that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mayor’s 20th Annual Christmas Celebration, scheduled for Saturday, December 5 at City Hall, has been cancelled.
But while the celebration has been cancelled, Ottawans can still enjoy the beautiful holiday lights display at City Hall beginning Tuesday, December 1, 2020 and continuing to Thursday, January 7, 2021.
The Mayor’s Annual Christmas Celebration in support of the Ottawa Food Bank is made possible with the help and contributions of many volunteers and generous corporate sponsors.
Of course, this year Holidays and celebrations are going to look and feel different during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the City says we can still embrace the spirit of the season by looking out for the most vulnerable and by supporting local businesses and donating to local food banks and charities.
The health and safety of all residents is of paramount importance. Residents are reminded to practice physical distancing, wear a mask and follow public health guidelines as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve.
