Ottawa’s Music On hold program expands from 25 to 35 local music artists
Starting today, when you call the City, you will hear any one of 35 local musicians as part of their really cool Music on Hold program. This year, the City has added an additional 10 songs for Music on Hold, which is part of the #ottmusic initiative that brings together City-led programs, opportunities and information for musicians and residents. These are the songs you will hear while on hold.
Close to 170 musicians of all genres submitted songs for consideration. A committee of Ottawa musicians and industry professionals reviewed the submissions and selected 35 songs for the City’s phone system. Traditionally, we have had 25 songs in the rotation for Music on Hold, but the City wanted to expand the program knowing how difficult the last year has been for our local musicians.
