The City of Ottawa have announced that the westbound lanes of Highway 174 will close from Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard to Montreal Road for roadwork as part of the Stage 2 LRT project. Lane reductions are scheduled to start at 9:30 pm with the closure of all westbound lanes at 10 pm on Friday, November 20. The closure will be in place until 5 am on Monday, November 23. Highway 174 eastbound will remain open.
The following detour will be in effect during the closure:
- Exit Highway 174 at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard
- Turn left on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard
- Turn right on St. Joseph Boulevard
- Follow the signed detour onto the transit westbound on-ramp at Montreal Road
The westbound Montreal Road to Highway 174 westbound on-ramp will also be closed.

The Confederation Line East is one of the three major extensions to Ottawa’s light rail transit system. This extension will see LRT continue from Blair Road to Place d’Orléans and go all the way to Trim Road. Revenue service for this extension is planned for 2024.
