As Ottawans are just recovering from Sunday’s snowfall, Environment Canada has issued a Winter Weather Travel Advisory for snow accumulation in Ottawa this morning into the afternoon. While later today there is risk of freezing rain along the Ottawa River corridor.

Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres are expected with the heaviest snow falling this morning, November 25, 2020. The snow is forecast to end early this afternoon.

The areas under the advisory as of this morning are:

  • Ottawa North – Kanata – Orléans
  • Ottawa South – Richmond – Metcalfe

Travel is expected to be impacted due to moderate to heavy snow. Motorists should be prepared for winter weather driving conditions.

Environment Canada also says that a risk of freezing drizzle will follow the snow into this evening, predominantly for locations in the vicinity of the Ottawa River. This freezing precipitation may make roads slippery overnight.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
