Just when it’s looking like spring is around the next bend of the Rideau, another wallop of old man winter is going to hit the capital with up to a half foot of snow, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC)!
A significant amount of snow is once again expected to fall late afternoon and into Saturday morning across the capital region on Friday with accumulations near 15 cm.

When will the snow start
This weather pattern is caused by an Alberta Clipper which the ECCC says will dump snow, heavy at times, to the area beginning this afternoon. The heaviest snowfall is expected this evening into the overnight., according to ECCC.
Reduced visibility
Of course it goes without saying that with this volume of fluffy white stuff, visibility may be suddenly reduced at times. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
