City of Ottawa summer camp registration is coming up – 10% discount and payment options

Register for Ottawa summer camps get a 10% discount this year

OTTAWA March 28, 2023 – It’s officially spring which means warmer days are fast approaching. You know what else is fast approaching? Registration for the City of Ottawa’s summer camps, swimming lessons and activities is just a few days away!

Here’s what you need to know to be prepared:

Summer camps, swimming lessons and activities

  • Browse summer camps, swimming lessons and activities online now at register.ottawa.ca(link is external).
  • Register for summer swimming lessons on Monday, April 3 starting at 9 pm.
  • Register for summer camps, recreation, arts and virtual activities on Tuesday, April 4 starting at 9 pm.

Summer camps 10 per cent discount and payment plan option

To help make summer camps more affordable for families this summer, Ottawa residents will receive a 10 per cent discount on summer camp registrations. The discount has been applied to the fees displayed online and will show on the receipt at the point of payment.

For families registering for multiple camps throughout the summer, consider the payment plan option at no extra cost. Rather than paying in full for all camps at the time of registration, stagger the payments for each camp throughout the summer. Your credit card will be charged on the Sunday two weeks in advance of the camp start date.

City of Ottawa camps and activities provide accessible, affordable and inclusive options for residents of all ages, either in-person or virtually, in English or in French. Choose from Camp Ottawa and Camp Ottawa Adventure for active and fun-filled days: enjoy sports camps and learn new skills, drills and strategies, try a specialty camp and nurture your child’s interest in something new, explore junior science and technology, or nurture their love of digital, theatre, dance and visual arts.

Summer camps and activities at City arts centres

From pottery to performance, City arts centres are where the arts come to life. There are various classes – like painting, dancing, pottery, filmmaking and sculpting – taught by accomplished instructors. Try out adult cooking classes such as “A Taste of Turkey” and “A Taste of India.”

Looking for French arts programming? Shenkman Arts Centre(link is external) also offers summer camps.

Tips for registration night

In advance of registration night, create an account on the City’s new registration system. To create an account, visit register.ottawa.ca(link is external), submit your email address and create a password. Saving your credit card information on your account in advance will make check out much easier.

Explore register.ottawa.ca(link is external) by filtering and sorting for the type of activity, time and day, age group, language of instruction and location; use the map function to look at options in surrounding areas, beyond your local recreation centre. Browse ahead of time and bookmark more than one of your preferred activities by creating a wish list for easy retrieval during registration. This way, you can quickly access your second or third choices if your first choice is full.
