OTTAWA, ON, November 5, 2021 – If you attended the “Back from the Dead” Halloween event at Mavericks (221 Rideau Street), you may have been exposed to COVID-19. Ottawa Public Health is currently investigating a possible COVID-19 exposure after two individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 attended the Halloween event at the popular Ottawa live music venue the evening of Saturday, October 30 while contagious.
All individuals who attended this event between 9 pm and 2 am are advised that they may have been exposed to COVID-19.
Ottawa Public Health has assessed the nature of this event and determined that individuals who attended the event are at an increased risk of COVID-19 exposure as there were several opportunities for transmission to occur.
If you attended this event, monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days and follow these instructions:
- If you develop any COVID-19 symptoms , you should immediately self-isolate and seek testing even if you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. A list of testing sites in Ottawa is available on our website. When you present for testing, please provide the following testing number: 490723.
- If you are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, you do not need to seek testing or isolate unless otherwise notified by Ottawa Public Health.
