Public invited to sign Canada’s book of condolences following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

OTTAWA, ON, Sept. 9, 2022 – Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, invites members of the public to sign the book of condolences following the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at Balmoral, Scotland on Sept. 8, 2022. At the age of 96 HM, Queen Elizabeth was the longest reigning monarch in British history.

Members of the public will be able to sign the book of condolences at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. EDT.

Members of the public are also invited to visit a commemorative section added to to obtain more information on the reign of Her Majesty the Queen, and to have access to special photo galleries created in her memory.

  • Members of the public can also visit the Canadian Heritage website to sign the official virtual book of condolences.

HM Queen Elizabeth has reigned over the British monarchy since the age of 25 and recently celebrated her Platinum Jubilee.
