OTTAWA, February 24, 2025 — Following a brief closure, the National Capital Commission (NCC) thankfully reopened the entire length of the Rideau Canal Skateway on Wednesday, February 18, at 8 am.
This short interruption helped preserve the surface, and our teams will take advantage of the cold overnight temperatures to prepare the ice to welcome the public again.
Today, they report that the conditions along the length of Canada’s longest skating rink vary from Good to Very Good. Not too shabby!
Once again, rental services, change rooms, and food and beverage concessions will be open.
For the latest updates on ice conditions and operating hours for on-ice amenities, visit the NCC’s website or follow the Rideau Canal Skateway on social media.
NCC thanks everyone for their cooperation and looks forward to seeing you on the Skateway.
