The National Capital Commission has announced that due to the forecasted warmer weather and rain in Ottawa, the Rideau Canal Skateway will temporarily close starting Thursday, January 8, at 10 pm.
NCC says this is a precautionary measure that will preserve the ice surface during the warm spell and should allow their crews to quickly reopen the Skateway as soon as conditions permit.
